Course Objectives

By the end of the course teachers will know:

  • How Dr. Howard Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences came about;
  • What the different intelligences are;
  • A range of special educational needs of children;

By the end of the course teachers will be able to:

  • Assess their students using a range of assessment tools based on MI theory;
  • Prepare a series of lessons using a range of activities based on MI theory;
  • Personalise learning for different children;
  • Prepare a development plan for their school;
  • Implement MI theory when teaching English as an additional language

By the end of the course teachers will understand:

  • How children learn
  • That the needs of the individual should be taken into account;
  • How another adult in the classroom can support their teaching and the children’s learning;
  • How a wide rage ICT resources enhances learning
  • The role of middle management and the duties and responsibilities of co-ordinators
